摘要
20世纪是语言学及其分支学科空前发展的时代。本文着重从分析英语词典编纂的成功经验入手，概括性地探讨语法学、语义学、语用学和语体学等语言学主要分支学科对英汉语文词典编纂的有益启示。
The 20th century has witnessed unprecedented developments in linguistics and its various branches. Based on the analysis of the compilation of English monolingual dictionaries, this paper attempts to discuss the impact of major branches of modern linguistics (i.e. grammar, semantics, pragmatics, style and register theory) upon English and English Chinese dictionary making.
