地域文化的形成是一个渐进的过程 ,要经历由点到面的演变。以骠、孟文化为基础的缅人文化在历史发展过程中与邻族文化相互借鉴、相互交融 ,在缅甸境内逐渐形成了一种关系密切的跨民族文化共同体 ,即缅甸区域文化。这种文化以缅族为主体 ,以佛学价值观为灵魂 ,以使用孟缅文字为标志 ,有着共同的心理特征、传统习俗和文化遗产。它经历了萌芽、定型、发展、分化、复兴五个阶段。

Evolution of a regional culture is a process which advances step by step in a cultural area. In its historical development, the Burmas culture which is based on two kinds of cultures of Pyu and Mon mingles with the culture of other nationalities in Myanma, and forms an intercultural community which has an intimate internal velation, and is called Myanma Culture Zone. The intercultural community now bases itself on both the Burmas culture and the Buddism,and marks itself with using the Mon Burmese alphabet. There are common senses, traditions, habits and cultural legacies in this community. It has undergone five periods: the seeding, the finalization, the development, the disintegration and the rejuvenation.
