《西文文献著录条例》(修订扩大版)充分反映了国际标准书目著录和国外编目条例的最新进展,特别是及时反映了当前电子资源和连续性资源的发展动态,能充分满足各种文献类型的编目需要,同时注意结合本国编目实践,反映了我国编目工作的学术研究水平和实践水平,也代表了国内西文编目工作的阶段性成果。

The Rules, based on the new editions of The International Standard Bibliographic Descriptions (ISBDs) and The Anglo -American Cataloging Rules (2nd edition, 2002 revision) (AACR2R2002), reflects recent developments in international cataloging concepts and practice, especially in area of the electronic resources and serial resources, in order to satisfy the needs for cataloging difference types of materials. It also has a strong localized feature to adopt native language policy and local users' habit and thus represents the current status of cataloging in China.
