糯玉米广泛应用于食品工业、养殖业和淀粉加工业。其子粒淀粉是食品工业、医药、纺织、酿造、造纸、地矿等工业的极好原料。我国鲜糯玉米产业已成为农民增收、种植业结构调整的新兴产业。糯玉米产业的发展必须加大科技投入,建立生产基地,上规模,创品牌,走育、繁、推、种、加、养一体化的综合开发道路。

Waxy corn(Zea mays L. ceratina Kulesh)is abroad applied for foodstuff industry, stock raising, starch machining, spin, medical treatment, mining, paper making, brewage. Waxy corn industry in China is developing very fast for farmer enhance earning, adjusting planting configuration. We must increase investment for technology, set up planting base, mass production for the development of waxy corn industry.
