The engineering conversion of the shear strength between the rock and the rock mass of the slope in Gushan Open Pit is made by the methods of CSIR, Fesinke, Georgi and Hoek and the empirical reduction method. Based on this, the value of shear strength of the rock mass for use in the calculation of the stability of this open-pit's slope is recommended.
