Objective: To study the alexithymia and its affective factors in patients with neuroses and depressive disorder. Methods: Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS) was applied with 60 cases diagnosed as neuroses and depressive disorder by comparing with normal. Results: Significant higher total TAS and four factors scores in neuroses and depressive disorder indicated marked Alexithymia in neuroses, and there was no significant difference between male and female. The severity of SCL-90 somatization and anxiety factors were the most two important influencing factors to the TAS. Conclusion: It is very important for chosing the more proper psychological methods in the treatment of neuroses and depressive disorder to evaluate the alexithymia of neuroses patients correctly.
