The role and reference grammar: a survey

角色参照语法是近年来发展起来的一种结构功能语法兼有形式研究和功能研究的特点它把语言看作是一种社会交际的行为系统句法受到语义因素和语用因素的制约因此只有参照相应的语义角色和交际功能才能理解和解释语法结构它对语法结构中纵向聚合和横向组合的抽象描写颇具特色不仅进行严格的结构形式分析而且进行有效的语义和语用分析本文简要述评角色参照语法的基本观点和方法介绍其主要的理论设计认为它吸收了形式分析和功能研究的许多优点具有自身的系统性是把语用因素结合进语法分析框架的一个较成功的尝试对研究英语汉语等不同语言结构和功能颇有参考价值

The role and reference grammar is a structural-functional grammar with features of both formal and functional analysis. It views language as a verbal system of social interaction whose syntactic structures are inevitably constrained by semantic and pragmatic factors and thus should be account ed for with reference to the semantic roles and communicative functions. This recently-developed grammar has some unique features in its description of paradigmatic and syntagmatic st ructures of language. This paper briefly reviews its basic concepts and theoretical construct and comments on its potential value for grammatical analysis of languages like Chinese and English.
