摘要
本文主要探讨了英国教育家J，Harmer在20世纪80年代初国际外语教学开始走向多元综合时期提出的外语教学平衡思想。在此基础上，文章进一步指出Harmer的平衡观对当今外语教学发展的启示及其思想中的不足之处。
The paper studies a balanced theory of foreign language teaching (FLT)proposed by J.Harmer in the early 1980s when international FLT was developing towards integration. On the basis of this analysis, the paper points out the weaknesses of J.Harmers balanced theory and its implications for the development of todays FLT.
