The U.S. Reassesses its Japan Policy and Its Impact

美国开始对亚太安全形势和日本作用重新评估，要求重视和加强美日同盟。美国调整对日政策可能使美日关系进一步向平等方向发展，以换取日本对美国亚太战略的支持与合作。这是近年来美国加大对亚太地区投入战略的一部分，美日双方对此都十分重视。这对今后美日关系和亚太安全形势的走向会产生影响，但不会改变中美日三角关系的基本框架。

The United States has begun to reassess the security situation in the Asian Pacific region and Japan's role in the region, and demands to attach importance to and strengthen the U.S.—Japan alliance. The United States' readjustment of its policy towards Japan may lead to the development of the U.S.—Japan relations on a more equal footing so as to obtain Japan's support of and cooperation in the U.S. Asia—Pacific strategy. This is one part of the U.S. strategy in which the U.S. has increased its activities and role in the Asian—Pacific region in recent years. Both the U.S. and Japan attach great importance to it. It will exert impact on the future trend of the U.S.—Japan relations and the security situation in the Asian—Pacific region, but will not change the basic framework of the triangle relations among China, the United States and Japan.
