任何形式的政治都将随着社会的发展而发展。由于政治发展受到历史、社会、文化等因素的影响，因而必然形成政治发展模式的多样性。各个国家只有从本国国情出发，才能正确确定政治发展的目标和主题。当代中国政治发展的目标和主题就是建设有中国特色的社会主义民主政治，其依据深深植根于我国现实社会生活的实际之中。我国的基本国情决定了民主政治建设只能是一个逐步积累的渐进过程。

Any form of politics will develop continuously with the development of society. As the development of politics is influenced by such factors as history, society and culture, the model of political development will inevitably diversify. Every country must depend on its own national conditions to define the aim and theme of political development. The aim and theme of Chinese political development is to establish socialist democratic politics with Chinese characters, which deeply rooted in our country's actuality. Our country's basic national conditions determine that the construction of democratic politics can only be a gradual accumulative process.
