汪洵书法赏评

The appreciation and evaluation of Wang Xun's calllgraphy

提到吴昌硕，人们总会说他是近代书法史上一座崛起的高山，代表着一个时代的高度，而提到汪洵，许多人还是非常陌生，更不了解他的书法。然而，汪洵在世时，书名是极其显赫的，在清末、民初的书坛上，他与吴昌硕、张祖翼、高邕之被公称为海上四大书法家。据杨逸《海上墨林》载，在上海繁华要道的很多商店招牌均出其手，声誉极盛，书例畅销。

Wang Xun (1846-1915), a calligrapher of the early Shanghai school, was acclainmed as one of the 'Four Masters of Shanghai' together with Wu Changshuo, Zhang Zuyi and Gao Yong. Wang was also known as one of the initiatiors of 'Hai ShangTi Jin Guan', an early organization of painting and calligraphy in Shanghai. Wand's calligraphic works of various styles are introduced in this paper.
