It is a misreading for people to believe that Keats'literary talent is rooted deeply in the soil of the ancient Greek culture according to the materials Keats applied in his writings and the comments by many critics. Both what bore on him and the ideas he committed to his poems, however, are absolutely Elizabethan. All he did in the search for beauty and the thinking of death are transmitting the taste of the Elizabethan Age except his inherent sensibility to nature and his gifted intelligence. His literary creation, no matter by nature or in form, has definitely a blooded kinship with the literati and currency of his time.
