萧红对于女性生活命运的表现是独树一帜的,写出了作为女性的自然性别给她们带来的种种不幸,在生命价值、意义层面上显现出对女性的关怀。萧红的笔触伸向了中华民族的深层文化心理结构和为其提供养分的现实土壤,将鲁迅改造国民性的文化思路融入到了她对妇女命运的表现中,从民族文化的深处揭示了封建主义对妇女的精神奴役,这使她的作品超越了同类题材的小说。
