介绍了EI的收录范围和主要数据库产品,以及来源期刊的选刊原则,核心刊和非核心刊著录项目的区别,还介绍了收录论文格式及文摘的要求。统计了中国科技期刊被EI收录情况。侧重介绍了《成都理工大学学报(自然科学版)》的历史和发展,统计、分析了该刊1996～2003年被EI的收录情况及对学校发展做出的贡献。

This paper introduces the Engineering Index (EI) collection scope and the main database (products), the choosing publishing principle of the source periodicals, the difference of recording items (between) the core periodicals and the non-core of periodicals, and the normal form of papers and the (requirements) of an abstract. The collection quantity of Chinese technology periodicals in EI is counted in this paper. It expounds the developing history of Journal of Chengdu University of Technology(Science & Technology Edition). Then it analyzes the papers published by Journal of Chengdu University of (Technology) (Science & Technology Edition) in 1996~2003 covered by EI and introduces the journal's (contribution) in the school's developing.
