From the target of the strategy for the great development of western region, and the promotive effect of foreign direct investment to total development program in China,the paper analyses the existent problems such as the localization of the related policies and the shortcomings that business enterprises in the western regions have and lack of the service information in foreign investment,etc.The paper inquires into the appropriate measures of solution of choosing foreign direct investment industry and area,states the importance of the beneficial strategic position in international competition to China by means of the positive development in foreign direct investment in western regions.
