Historical Traits of Beijing Culture

作为中国的首都 ,北京有着悠久的历史 ,在辽、金、元、明、清五代近一千年间 ,北京的历史文化特点鲜明。具体体现在三个层次的交融 :即农耕文化和牧猎文化的撞击与融会、京师文化和地区文化的辐辏与辐射。

Beijing as the Capital of China has a long-standing history. During the near 1000 years of Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties her historical and cultural traits have been distinct. These traits are particularly embodied in the blending of three levels, i.e. farming, animal husbandry and hunting cultures, capital and local cultures, as well as Chinese and non-Chinese cultures.
