摘要
通感修辞手法的长期运用,造成词义固化,形成"通感式词义引申"。从生理学、心理学和语言学角度剖析威廉斯基于英语提出的通感式词义引申规律,并将其扩展、修正,对于探讨语言的共性和民族文化差异具有重要意义。
Having long been used as a rhetoric device, synesthesia has effected meaning extension and generated fixed expressions. This paper is intended to dispute Joseph Williams' rules of synesthetic meaning extension after an analysis of the biological, psychological and linguistic aspects of the phenomenon. The findings are of importance to the study of linguistic universals and cultural differences.
