A Study of Basho Matsuo and His Theory of Fuga

松尾芭蕉是日本江户时代著名的俳谐大师,蕉风俳谐的创始人,风雅说的倡导者。他的一生几乎同旅行相伴,如果没有四处云游的经历,恐怕很难造就其独特的艺术风格。正因如此,他才得以在大自然中寻求艺术的真谛,领悟到"顺从造化,以四季变化为友"的真正奥秘,使俳谐理论由诙谐上升到更高层次的风雅境界。

As the originator of Basho-style Haikai and initiator of Fuga theory,Basho Matsuo is a master of Haiku during the Edo era in Japan. He travelled all over his country in his whole life,without which his unique artistic style could hardly have been established. And he also sought after the true meaning of arts from his travels and grasped the very subtlety of the saying of'Complying with the Nature and Conforming to the Seasonal Changes'. He brought the theory of Haiku to a higher level,namely from the state of fun to the acme of Fuga.
