战后英国在放弃还是保存帝国这样的一个两难悖论中挣扎的时候,非洲的价值却因其巨大的资源以及战略优势引起了英国的注意,于是非洲被放入了非殖民化时期帝国语境下进行重新审视。由于对非洲在未来帝国生存模式重组方面可能会发挥的巨大作用,英国开始了以非洲为中心的帝国非殖民化的探索进程,但这同时也将是以非洲为中心重组一个隐性帝国的历程。

When the British government was still hovering between abandoning or keeping its empire, the rich natural resources and strategic advantage in Africa made the Labor government keep their eyes on the land. So the Africa was reviewed in the context of decolonization. Owing to Africa's potential role in reconstruction of the Empire existence model, the British government started its exploring experience of decolonization in Africa as the center – an experience of reconstructing a secret empire.
