Drawn component design for automobile covering parts is an important part instamping process design, related to the difficulty of die test and success of the whole procedureand manufacture cycle, cost, quality of stamping parts. The forming characteristic of automobilecovering parts and the basic principles of drawn component design were elaborated. The generalmethod including press direction, addendum surface of technology, press surface and draw beadwere put forward. The economy of drawn component design was discussed.
