There are eight ideals of standard in the history of Chinese grammar.The development of the ideas of standard is an epitome of the history of Chinese grammar, which not only reflects the great influence of the ideas of the Western grammar upon Chinese grammar studies, but also reflects the efforts made by Chinese grammarian in order to seek a system of grammatical theory that suits Chinese.
