鸦片战争后,随着中国被迫卷入资本主义世界体系,国人开始了对近代世界格局的观察和认识过程。在这一过程中,不同时代的人们运用不同的语汇对世界形势进行了不同的描述和判断。解说世界语汇的变化,从一个侧面展现出晚清国人精神状态与文化观念的变迁历程。

After the Opium War, with China passively involving into the capitalist world system, Chinese people began to observe and understand the modern world. Using various words, the intellectuals of different times described and judged the world situations in different ways, which revealed indirectly the changing of Chinese spiritual state and cultural ideas in late Qing Dynasty.
