The novel In the Skin of a Lion by Michael Ondaatje shows the distinctive self - consciousness of multinational immigrants. Compared with another novel the English Patient by the same author, this novel conveys the joys and sorrows of life of Canadian nameless constructors and interprets in perspective of the postcolonial theory the problems of immigration, language and identity.
