刘少奇《论共产党员的修养》一书,在中国共产党的思想史上第一次完整地提出并且阐明了马克思主义中国化必须与党性修养融化一体的历史必然,即一方面从马克思主义中国化的历史高度上认识党性修养的必然性和重要性;另一方面又通过党性修养解点世界观和人生观的问题,以创造性地推进马克思主义中国化的历史进程。这是他对毛泽东建党思想杰出的理论贡献,是马克思中国化之客观规律的科学总结。

In his book On the Self Cultivation of Communists , Liu Shaoqi for the first time in the history of the CPC advanced the theory that the Sinicization of Marxism and the Party spirit must be merged into an organic whole. This theory stresses the necessity of the Party members' self-cultivation on the one hand , and the establishment of the Party members world outlook on the other in perspective of the historic process of Sinicization of Marxism. This theory is an important contribution to Mao Zedong thoughts about of Party-building, and a scientific summary of the objective law of Sinicization of Marxism.
