摘要 Hui (叀) and Wei (隹) is a pair of auxiliary words that indicates moodin common use of oracle inscriptions. They have a guess mood with stress, mostlyuse in the question sentence and judge sentence. Hui (叀) mainly use in thepositive sentences; Wei (隹) use both in the positive sentences and in thenegative sentences. The two words have positive or negative guess mood separately.The guess moods they have deal with oracle inscriptions which are prejudgesentences, and the result sentences of the oracle inscriptions never use them.From then, Hui (叀) becomes Hui (惠) in the the ancient literature record, andWui (隹) becomes Wui (惟?唯?维). The usage of Wei (隹) is flexible than Hui(叀), therefore Wui (唯) was used mostly in the ancient literature records thanHui(惠).
