This paper discusses in detail the key problems of the development of network for loom, and provides a practicable solution to developing an intranet-based monitor-control system in weaving industry. The solution includes the designs of network structure, software composition, protocol, multithread, database, etc. The monitor-control system is developed to satisfy the special requirements brought with the new characteristics in weaving industry, such as small batches, variety, fast pace. The developed software based on this solution has been successfully applied in some companies.
