On the Features of the Emotional Themes in Zhang Ai-ling's Works

张爱玲的作品是"细节的"是"个人的"。对个人情感的探索,对男欢女爱的细述,是她作品中最直白、最重要的主题。其特色有四:其一,婚姻仅仅是女性的"卖身契约",情感反而退居其次;其二,张爱玲笔下的情爱多是在人性变态与扭曲中表现的;其三,情爱主题随着历史的前进而嬗变,充满了现代化气息;其四,情欲在婚姻中得不到满足,溢出婚姻外的情欲才是张爱玲关注的所在。

Zhang Ai-ling's works are 'detail' and 'individual'. The most straightforward and important themes in her works are the exploring of individual emotions and the depiction of the love between man and woman, the features of which can be found in four ways: first, marriage is just a 'covenant of selling oneself' in which emotion is on the second place; second, the love expressed in Zhang Ai-ling' works comes in the form of sexual abnormality and distortion; third, the theme of love and emotion are attached with the changes of time and are full of modern atmosphere; fourth, sexual desire can not find its satisfaction in marriage, which shows that the real concern of Zhang Ai-ling is the sexual desire out of marriage.
