Liu Yazi's Idea of “Revolution in the Old-Style Poetry”

柳亚子在 1945年提出“旧诗革命”的口号 ,主张“诗人要有气节 ,诗人要有思想” ,这是对千百年来的“旧诗流弊”的批判 ,是他旧诗创作实践的结晶 ,是对当时诗人的鼓励和鞭策 ,对于今天的诗歌创作仍然有着重要的指导和借鉴意义。

In 1945, Liu Yazi put forward the slogan of “revolution in the old sty le poetry”, maintaining that “Poets should have integrity. Poets should have t hinking.” The slogan was a criticism of the “corrupt practices of the old sty le poetry” which had existed for hundreds of years, the crystallization of his practice in writing old style poems, and the encouragement and spur to the poet s of that time. It still has an important guiding and referential significance t o the creation of poetry today.
