今年以来,我国船舶工业努力克服国内外钢材涨价、伊拉克战争、突发"非典"疫情带来的不利影响,全行业生产经营保持稳定、快速增长,主要经济指标创历史同期新高.

In the first half of 2003, despite the negative impact of the U.S.- Iraqi war and the outbreak of SARS, our shipbuilding industry witnessed positive development with various economic indexes continuing to climb up. It is encouraging to see that various production and operation indexes of large state owned enterprises have leaped forward, their backbone status and competitive advantages are more remarkable, the influences of SARS have been curtailed to the lowest level, the shipbuilding industry has shown a concerted development momentum, the intensive production and specialized division are becoming increasingly evident in shipbuilding industry and the soaring steel price has become a major hindrance to the development of the shipbuilding industry, etc.
