言语是魏晋士人清谈的基本载体,也是魏晋风度的重要表现形式。魏晋士人的言语世界异彩纷呈,既有鲜明的共同倾向,又有独特的个性差异,极能折射出士人人格的双重性,是后世品鉴魏晋风度的有效渠道。《世说新语》作为士人言语的宝库,其语料价值在此得到了进一步的确认。

The spoken language was both a light and clear form in writing but also an important way of expression for Weijin scholars. It was rich and colorful with not only distinct common tendencies but also unique individual differences. It reflected the scholars' double personality and provided effective channels through which later generations can make judgements. As a treasurehouse of scholars' spoken language, the value of the book 'Shiyu Xingshuo' is further acknowledged.
