Insistence on Unity between Class Nature of the Party and Extensiveness of Mass Basis

中国工人阶级是中国共产党的阶级基础,中国共产党是中国工人阶级的先锋队,但并不排斥工人阶级以外的优秀分子加入中国共产党。中国共产党的历史已经证明了这一点。改革开放二十多年来,我国社会阶层构成虽然发生了新的变化,但中国共产党的工人阶级先锋队的性质并没有变,同时把新社会阶层中的优秀分子吸收到党内来,扩大党的群众基础和社会影响力,从而带领本阶级和广大人民群众共同实现社会主义现代化的宏伟目标。

Chinese working class is the class basis of Chinese Communist Party which is the vanguard of the former.But outstanding people outside the working class are not excluded from the party.The history of the party is a proof.Over20years since reform and opening-up,the constitution of social classes in our country has new changes,but the nature of the party as the vanguard of working class is not changed.So we should absorb the outstanding people in the new social stratum into the party,expand the party's mass basis and social influence so as to take the working class and people to realize the great goal of socialist modernization.
