In modern literary history,Feng Zi-kai,with his unique mental quality and life pursuit,is often misunderstood to have missed the excellent opportunity to acquire new culture,stayed with traditional Confucian culture and Buddhism,kept himself away from the conflict and combination of Chinese and western cultures and new and old cultures and been distant from Marxist guidance in ideology,directly making his works lag behind the times.Such belief cannot sfand close scrutiny.The paper,taking as the clue FENG Zi-kai's whole life and the experience related to his pursuit of his self value,objectively analyzes his mental quality to show the marvelous combination of contemporary cultural change with traditional cultural quintessence in him.
