The undersea color video monitoring and controlling system makes it possible that marine surveyors are able to observe the seabed micro-topography, landforms and geological characteristics directly, with other seabed survey equipments, the fixed survey and sampling to the objects can be realized so as to greatly improve the capacity and effectiveness of undersea geological survey as well as the working efficiency. Different ways of video frequency coding affect the clarity of images, quantity of data storage and stability directly. This article introduces the successful experiences of MPEG4 applied in Undersea Color Video Monitoring and Controlling System.
