As one of the most outstanding female writers in the 1930s, XIAO-Hong has left for us literary works of one-million-odd words. Bole was one of the two novels created by her in her lifetime, which was also an unfinished work due to her mortal illness. Thus, the rereading of the novel will never be the interpretation and analysis in the general sense, but to commemorate this talented, sentimental woman writer with lifetime of frustrations.
