摘要
随着计算机和通信网络的快速发展,网络设备对性能和灵活性的要求越来越高,网络处理器(NP)通过对芯片的优化设计和提供可编程性平衡了这两方面的要求。由于网络处理器是一种新型的处理器,基于NP的系统设计不同于传统的基于通用处理器、ASIC/FPGA技术或单纯的嵌入式系统的开发,涉及到更多的设计目标(性能、灵活性、成本等)的优化问题。应分析NP的结构特点和对应用系统开发的影响,并考虑网络通信系统发展趋势,建立模块化和标准化的通信系统。
Performance and flexibility are more and more important requirements for netw ork devices in the explosive internet.Network processors provide high performan ce and flexibility through integrating multi programmable processors on one chip .As network processor is a new-style system-on-chip,the system design base d on network processor is very different from the traditional development base d on general purpose processor,ASIC/FPGA technology and embedded system,it in volves more targets in design optimization.We must analyze the structure featu res of network processor,and how they impact the development of application sy stem and build modular and standardized telecom system.
