Futures markets have the primary economic function of finding price and avoiding risks, as well as gathering, processing, and disseminating information. This article has identified and defined the basic functions of futures markets information processing and analyzed the essential characteristics of those functions, elaborated the basic principles of futures markets' information functions, analyzed the effects of these functions on social, economic and cultural development, and identified the channels by which the functions are performed.
