张岱年先生的著名的“综合创新论”是在中西哲学比较中提出的。他认为 ,中西哲学有共同的问题 ,故可比较 ,比较的目的是为了发展中国哲学。但张岱年不是抽象地肯定中西哲学之“同”或“异” ,而是通过具体分析 ,指出二者既有同 ,又有异 ,同之中又有异。在比较的基础上提出“综合创新论” ,作为中国哲学现代化的一条可行之路。 2 0世纪 80年代的文化“综合创新”是在 30年代“创新综合”的基础之上的进一步发展 ,具有新的时代特征 ,其中特别强调方法论与价值论的意义。本文最后讨论了“综合创新”

The famous Theory of Integrative Innovation of Master Zhang Dainian (1909.5-2004.4) was brought forward in the comparison of Chinese and Western philosophy. He proposed that there are common questions in Chinese and Western philosophy, and this made the comparison possible. The objective of comparison was to develop Chinese philosophy. Master Zhang did not merely affirm the “sameness' or “difference' between Chinese and Western philosophy abstractively, but indicated with concrete analysis that there are both sameness and difference between the two subjects and the difference was consisting in the sameness. Based on comparison, he presented the Theory of Integrative Innovation as a feasible way of modernization for Chinese philosophy. The cultural “Integrative Innovation' in 1980's was a development of the “Innovational Integration' in 1930's. It embodied the characteristics of its time and emphasized the significance of methodology and axiology. The last part of this article discussed how “Integrative Innovation' could be implemented.
