轭式修辞法是英语中一种重要而有趣的修辞手段 ,关于它的定义及范畴历来争议较多。文章认为轭式修辞法有广义和狭义之分 ,根据其使用中所表现出的不同性质又可将狭义的轭式修辞法的性质分为两类 。

Zeugma is an important and interesting rhetorical device in English. Till now there has not been consensus among researchers on its definition and categorization. It is held in this article that zeugma can be defined in broad sense and in narrow sense. Zeugma in narrow sense, the focus of the article, is categorized into two types according to the different qualities it demonstrates in actual use. On this basis, the paper further analyzes the relationships between zeugma and lexical meaning and the linguistic context in which it exists.
