Origin and Characteristics of Art Songs in China

艺术歌曲是西乐东渐的产物,迄今在我国已有近百年的历史。这一音乐体裁具有精致的结构、美妙的旋律、鲜活的音乐形象及富有灵性的音乐语言与诗歌语言浑然于一体等特点。中国艺术歌曲的创作也经历了从借鉴、模仿到融会贯通,从摸索、总结到实践创新的发展历程,并表现出鲜明的民族性与强烈的时代性等特征。

Art songs (or lieder), which originated in Germany, have a history of nearly 100years in China. The Chinese musicians simply imitated the western models at first, but gradually they are able to create songs that bear strong national characteristics and are stamped with the brand of the times.
