On Wang Xian-qian's Educational Practice and Thinking

王先谦系中国近代著名学者、作家、教育家,亦是湖南一师第一任校长及其前身城南书院最后一任山长。他虽为官多年,但教育实践贯通一生;虽政治上保守,但教育思想与时俱进。

Wang Xian-qian was a famous scholar, writer, educator, and the first master of Hunan First Normal School as well as a head of South-city Academy. Although he held an official post for many years, he did all his life in educational practice. Though he was conservative in politics, his educational thinking was progressive with times.
