Innovation of corn germplasms is greatly important to improve corn heterosis. It must be admitted that there are no heterosis increase without the innovation of its germplasms. It proved through long practice that recurrent selection is indispensable in corn breeding because it is frequently used and is very efficient for corn germplasm innovation. In this paper, it is discussed in great detail that the effect of recurrent selection on innovation of corn germplasms and the methods,within population(improving one population)and between populations(improving two populations).
