Analysis of Deng Xiao-ping’s Educational Thoughts

“百年大计 ,教育为本” ,坚持“三个面向” ,培养“四有新人” ,调动教师积极性 ,加强教师队伍建设 ,尊师重教 ,身体力行 ,“教育要两条腿走路” ,邓小平为中国新时期的教育改革发展确定了一整套切实可行、行之有效的方针和原则 ,为面向 2 1世纪的中国教育提供了科学的指导思想 ,是我国社会主义教育事业全面发展的重要保证。

Deng Xiao-ping’s educational thoughts—“education is of fundamental importance to the fulfillment of our great long-range mission”, upholding “Three Orientations”, bringing up New generation with lofty ideals, moral integrity, good education and strong sense of discipline, stimulating the initiative of the teachers, strengthening the building of teacher staff, respecting teachers and prizing education, practising what one advocates, “education should walk on two legs” , made a complete set of practical and effective policies and principles for the development of China’s educational reform in the new times, and provided the scientific guiding thoughts for China’s education in the 21st century. They are important guarantee of the overall development of China’s socialist education.
