中华传统的精神文化蕴涵着深刻的人文精神和美育品格 ,形成于“轴心时代”的“人文以化成天下”的命题奠定了这种文化精神的基础。“循天道 ,尚人文”的人文倾向、“致中和 ,得其分”的中和境界以及“崇礼乐 ,赞化育”的美育工夫 ,构成了中华审美人文精神由内而外、由体而用、由境界而工夫的基本内涵和总体风貌。中国传统人文精神追求审美境界 ,中国传统美学境界则突出人文精神 ,这就是中华审美人文精神。

The traditional culture of the Chinese nation contains a profound humanistic spirit and an aesthetic character whose foundation is the proposition that “the world is acquired through the nurturing of humanities” established in the “Age of Axis.” The humanistic bend of “conforming to the Way and upholding humanities,” the balancing spiritual realm of “taking the mean course and enjoying a share,” and the aesthetic efforts made on “advocating ritual and music and advertising nurturing and persuasion” constitute the essential connotations and general look of the humanistic spirit of Chinese aesthetics——from Inside to Outside, from Body to Function, and from spiritual realm to realistic efforts. Traditional Chinese humanistic spirit has been in pursuit of an aesthetic realm in which such a spirit is stressed. It is in here that lies the very aesthetic humanistic spirit of the Chinese nation.
