This paper analyzes and researches the functions of the securities i nvestment funds, a kind of financial intermediaries, in the modern financial sys tem from the visual angle of the financial function, and points out that the dev elopment of the securities investment funds has put challenges for the tradition al superior position of the commercial banks, and the fund trade entry of the co mmercial banks is inevitable trend, and Chinese financial system is transiting i nto the trade-mixing operation.
