“山中高士晶莹雪”隐喻对象辨正——与红学家冯其庸先生商榷

Research into the Object of the Metaphor in Sparkling Snow and Holy Hermit——An Academic Discussion with Mr. Feng Qiyong, the Famous Specialist in A Dream of Red Mansion

冯其庸先生对红学界关于“山中高士晶莹雪”隐喻薛宝钗的看法作了新的解释:“山中高士”非指薛宝钗,而是破折号“晶莹雪”。认为薛热衷于功名利禄,不配称高士,冷冰冰的雪才是“山中高士”。联系曹公关于高士的用典、薛宝钗的全部言行表现以及与林黛玉之间的对比,“山中高士”隐喻薛宝钗,“世外仙姝”隐喻林黛玉都很恰切得当。我们不能苛求于封建时代的一位淑女。由此而论,对红学中的不少表现手法和语言,不能琢磨得过头,否则,真理超出半分便是谬误。

Mr. Feng Qiyong made another explanation on the understanding of 揝parkling Snow and Holy Hermits?in 揂 Dream of Red Mansion? he said that Holy Hermit refers to not Xue Baochai, but 揝parkling Snow? he also thinks that Xue Baochai enjoys seeking for fame and fortune; in combination with the literary quotations that Cao Xueqin often used and the contrast between Xue Baochai and Lin Daiyu, we find that 揝parkling Snow?is a metaphor for Xue Baochai and 揊airy Lady in the Fictitious Land?refers to Lin Daiyu. We can not apply a very high standard on a girl in the federal society. So the research into the expressions and languages in 揂 Dream of Red Mansion?should not go beyond a certain limit, or the truth will turn into the false foolishly.
