As a great novelist, Joseph Conrad has exerted world wide influence. This study finds that Conrad has exercised impact upon novelists not only from Europe, but from the north and south Americas, Africa and Asia, some of whom were subsequent writers while others his contemporaries; that six of his works are the most influential, and that the influential factors are his themes, genre and techniques.
