管约论认为ECM受NP格的驱动推导而成,赋格主要允准条件为管辖和邻近,其结果往往因限制过于严格而无法达到完全解释。简约论认为DP的格特征是固有的,DP的移动是为了满足对功能词的形态特征核查的需要。结合Bowers(2002)将v的功能分成Pr和Tr的假设,我们认为在简约论的框架内对ECM的推导进行解释更为合理:DP必须前移到[Spec,Tr],[spec,T]位置,对Tr、T的格特征进行核查。
In GB theory, derivation of ECM is case - driven, case assignment is licensed on the bases of Government and Adjacency, which result in the failure of Full Interpretation, together with numerous constraints. In MP, DPs are assumed to have inherited case features in Lexicon; their movements are motivated by the case feature checking necessity of the functional categories. On the basis of Bowers' (2002) assumption that functions of v be divided into Pr and Tr, we believe that a full interpretation of the ECM derivation is achieved this way: DPs have to move upwardly to [Spec, Tr], [Spec, T] and merge with them to have their case features checked.
