An Economic Analysis of the High Enthusiasm of Univer sity-Entry in the Context of Low Graduates' Employment Rates

我国上个世纪90年代以来大学生就业冷背景下依然存在大学热现象,从经济学角度看,原因在于大学生与高中生的收入水平差距和就业概率差距并没有因大学生就业冷而缩小,进而大学教育收益率并未降低,大学热是人们理性选择的结果。

Since the 1990s in China, there has been high enthusiasm for university-entry in spite of the low graduates' employment rates. Analyzed from an economic viewpoint, the reason for this phenomenon can be found in the fact that the income level gap and the employment rate gap between university graduates and people with just a high school certificate have not been narrowed, therefore the rates of return to university education have not been lowered. So the high enthusiasm for university-entry is the result of people's rational option.
