In the present research we made a thorough study of the relation between the internal pressure of common bile duct(CBD) of rabbits and their histological structure by way of adding sudden pressure to rabbits' CBD in vivo. It was found that the mean basic pressure was 1. 27±0. 47kPa,and the diameter of CBD of normal rabbits was 1. 31± 0. 20mm. In experiment group 6 of the CBD of rabbits ruptured completely, and their collagenous and elastic fibres were broken. Results suggested that clinically the high binary pressure was unlikely to cause rupture of the fibres which maintain the tension and elasticity of bile duct, and to induce the consequent repair with scar.
