The article expounds on how to ensure the quality, creativity and integrated qualities in graduate education. The purpose of graduate education is to train qualified researchers, enable them to grasp research conception and methods, with innovation as its core and research emphasized. The direction of research must be novel, pragmatic and prospective. Moreover, the research content and methods may be a transition from past to present and present to future. Apart from academic abilities, such qualities such practical and realistic spirits, the fearlessness of difficulties and the ability to study and cooperate with others are important to a graduate. A mentor needs to have extensive knowledge and keep strict standards during training of graduates with ability training as the focus. Eventually, the mission of a mentor is to cultivate a qualified researcher with high and integrated qualities.
